The Most Kind-Hearted Man in My Life

My ‘Danny Guy’ as I used to always refer to him, amazes me every single day. He is the most kind-hearted man on earth.

Today I shared a photo of Danny giving platelets at one of the donation centres in Manchester. One his friends commented saying that, “He’s a beautiful man with a beautiful soul.” At first, we both giggled and thought, “Aww how sweet!” Not that I didn’t know already, but it got me thinking about just how much I love him.

He is the sweetest, most caring person I’ve ever known. I used to wonder if I would ever meet anyone as generous and kind-hearted as my grandad. Surely not? But no, I was wrong. Ever since Danny became a significant person in my life, he opened up a whole new world. He has shown me that I can tell him anything and that he won’t judge an inch of my body or my personality.

The kind-hearted man he is and more…

I love his determination to always thrive for bigger and better things. Together we make the perfect pair because we reach our goals together. Even the personal ones, we’re there to support each other to meet them. What’s more is this man’s ability to juggle everything at once. He would have a million things going on but he’s right there whenever you need him. He’s forever making me feel as if nothing else matters as long as I’m happy. Every day is a new adventure. He wants to show me the world.

Danny never stops showing me the importance of happiness

Without the inspiration of my grandad and Danny, who unfortunately never met or never even knew each other, I wouldn’t have started this blog. Of all the things I’ve been surrounded by, these two have given me a real insight to perseverance. No matter how hard times get, how difficult it can be to tackle obstacles, it’s important to believe in what matters, what’s always mattered. And that’s having each other. With grandad, it was always about being yourself and seeing how you grow as a person. With Danny, it’s that and more…

Grandad never stopped showing how much he loved those who were close to him. He did anything and everything he could. One of the biggest hearts who was taken too soon. But I believe in ways, the lessons I learnt from him helped me to mature into the woman I am today. And I couldn’t be more thankful than my path took me back to Danny.

He is everything and more

To have a man who reminds you of so many things and gives you more than you ever thought the future could hold feels amazing. And at times, I have to remember that I’m living in reality and I really do have him. For all that he is and everything he continues to thrive for, is what makes me love him more and more each passing day.

There’s no other man in the world who I want by my side in everything that I do. He always wants to make a difference. If somebody is in need, he does his damnedest to help in any way he can. Danny always values my opinion and will always respond with honesty. Throughout all that he is, the thing I love the most is how true he is to himself. There’s an incredible amount of kindness in his nature. And he is handsome inside and out. There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll ever come across anybody who is as amazing as Danny.

Don’t Let Other People Control Your Happiness

It’s time to start putting more effort into my own happiness. It wasn’t so long ago that I thought I was better at letting things go.

Crying isn’t always a bad thing. But surely too much of it can’t be healthy? That’s what I’ve discovered over the last few weeks. People can have an impact on your emotions and they don’t even know it. Perhaps their actions aren’t always intentional but at the same time, they’re just not needed.

What am I going to do about it?

I need to like being myself, which I’m not completely so far away from. But if I could just get rid of this one thing that bugs me more than anything, its people’s opinions, their need to get involved an overwhelming amount or the inappropriate comments and gestures. People close to me advise me to ignore them. That’s where I’m weak. I struggle so much to try to put things to the back of my mind. And when I eventually do, something else pops up.

It’s down to me. For things to change, I need to focus on the more meaningful things in life. There are tonnes of things to smile about and to be thankful for. I’m not going to lose sight of myself trying to please others. Sometimes, it’s about speaking up and being brave.

Think about this too…

You can lose followers on social media but you shouldn’t let this impact your value. And you can have people who you drift anyway from that were your ‘mates’ or ‘friends’. Some of these people come into your life for a reason. Some friendships slip away, meanwhile others can stay forever. It doesn’t matter about the number of friends you have. What matters is, who they truly are. The truth is, I think we’re all worth more than we realise. It’s when you discover who you really are that leads you to believing how important your happiness is.

Am I really lonely? My parents do what they can to support me. My big brothers have always got my back. And I have the most amazing human being (Danny) by my side in all that I do. Surrounding yourself with the ones who love you is much better than being round a hundred people who might not believe in you or value who you really are.

The new adventure is right around the corner

I keep telling myself, “It’s not long now.” Me and Danny are waiting for those two weeks notice or whatever it’ll end up being to notify us when our home will be ready for us. I’ve visioned not only the day but everything leading up to this moment for so long. In fact, we both have. This is our journey. We’re going to travel on it in no other way but ours.

Now, the next time you find yourself becoming so lost in your emotions, fighting against other people’s matters or say, remember what you should really be focusing on. Tell yourself a million times. I should know, I’m constantly sending myself the reminder. If you do feel like you’re falling down again, go to your happy place.

Don’t let other people control your happiness, create your own kind of happiness.

Valentine’s Day Is Only Around the Corner

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is approaching? As much of a drag many people think January is, it can’t have gone that slow when we’re in February already! It’s around this time that we see people declaring their love for each other, feeling free and single, or just treating it like any other day of the day. It’s a topic I touched on last year when discussing different views towards Valentine’s Day.

For me, Valentine’s never meant that much to me. It was always nice to see people being loved up and receiving gifts. But I think we should always show affection to those we love every day of the year. That being said it’s still a day that I look forward to, especially as Danny was the first and only man to wish me a happy Valentine’s Day back then. I’m more lucky than ever to still have him by my side today these years later. The list of reasons why I love him is bigger than the 20 I mentioned last year.

My forever love

Our love grows stronger and we become more devoted the more years that go by. And Me and Danny will be moving into a new house which we are extremely excited to make into our home. The contracts are signed, we’ve purchased our couch, a brand new TV amongst many other bags of things. It’s starting to feel so real.

Who reckons I’m going to cry when we the house for the first time? I’m sure I will. When the day arrives, no doubt I’ll be emotions. But it’ll be with high spirits of knowing how happy the rest of my life is going to be with Danny.

Stay posted

Neither of us can contain our excitement. And I look forward to sharing a post all about our moving in journey. Keep a look out on my blog next month to read all about it. The excitement is unreal! For now, you can follow Tasha’s Lifestyle on Twitter for other little updates.

Life Wouldn’t Be the Same Without You

Imagine if there was one person who wasn’t in your life anymore. Someone who shows you the true meaning of love. Can you think about how it would completely change everything? I can and it’s a thought that would make things unbearable if it ever happened. But it also came to me that, as much as I know what people and things mean to me, writing about them reveals just how much.

Thinking about the past, in a good way

Looking back is a big thing for me. This isn’t to dwell on sad times or the wrongdoings. When you think about it, every single mistake you think you’ve ever made, along with the things you could’ve done better, they have made you who you are. Looking back helps me to see how I’ve shaped and grown into the woman I am today. Every single decision no matter how big or small plays a huge part. Thinking about who’s been there along the way make it all the more important.

When they just get you

There’s no one other than Danny who gets me and can figure everything out right to the core when it comes to how I’m feeling. He’s also a pro at knowing what I can achieve and just how far we can make it together. Aside that he’s the most caring, generous and kind hearted person in my life. Every day he does something to show that he is each of those qualities and so much more.

You know when Lilo screams into her pillow after arguing with her sister? Well Danny is my pillow during all of the times I want to let my feelings out. He also gives the most amazing hugs when you want to say nothing at all. He is my everything all in one. And he shows me the best meaning of love.

Life wouldn’t be the same

I can’t imagine accomplishing half of the things I have without Danny by my side. And it’s not just that. Wondering where I would be without him in my life is very difficult to imagine. He says its something I’ll never have to face though. Some might say it’s soppy but if I didn’t get the chance to tell Danny I love him every day and vice versa or know just how much we mean to each other, loving someone wouldn’t be as meaningful.

Since the moment we became closer than friends, he changed my life forever.

Message of this short and sweet post: never take people for granted. Live for the small moments as well as the big ones. Be there for others as much as they are there for you. And don’t ever let go of the people who love you just as much as you love them.

Everyone has their own meaning of love and Daniel has shown me what mine means to me.

The Perfect Bouquet of Roses from Prestige Flowers

This is a gifted post in collaboration with Prestige Flowers, who are voted number 1 for next day flower delivery in the UK. If you’re looking for some distinctive flowers, they have a wide range of hand-tied bouquets to fit every occasion.

A lovely lady from Prestige Flowers named Maryam got in touch with me following the form I filled out for their assignment opportunity that was listed on Bloggers Required. She gave me the great news of accepting the collaboration.

Delivery and packaging of the roses

The bouquet arrived only a couple of days after my email conversation with Maryam. It was packaged in a secure Prestige Flowers branded box. Once I opened the delivery box, I found a note, a flower care guide, a wine voucher with discount code and a £5 gift voucher to spend at Prestige Flowers. How generous!

12 roses and more…

As soon as I seen the dozen of Rhodos Roses I thought, “Wow they are so beautiful.” They were perfectly blossomed with the deep romantic red colour you would expect. And the handmade bouquet comes tied neatly with twine and shiny white wrapping paper.

What’s more, is that I discovered two more gifts inside the box. This was a surprise as I wasn’t expecting to find anything else. Maryam was very kind to include a cute cuddly teddy bear and a box of chocolates. Usually you receive a small bear with flowers but this one was fairly bigger.

It even has its own name (Noah) with a birth month and message on his tag. The box of ‘Valley Chocolates’ are so yummy! You have a selection of white, dark and milk chocolate to enjoy.

Receiving these gifts absolutely made my day

I can’t stop looking at my gifts.  They make me feel so special! I 100% recommend Prestige Flowers.  Their customer service is excellent and the gifts are gorgeous. They have lots of deals on at the moment so miss out – visit Prestige Flowers’ website.

A big thank you to Prestige Flowers for this collaboration.

The Winter Tag

I haven’t took part in Blogmas so here’s my Christmassy themed blog post! The one and only Lynette from Life With Lynette tagged me in ‘The Winter Tag’ where bloggers choose 8 bloggers to answer some Christmas related questions. Well, I can’t say no to participating in this can I? Lynette always tags me blog related things. She really is so lovely.

Here we go…

What is your favourite holiday tradition?

Sometimes I wonder if I have a Christmas tradition… then I think surely we all have at least one? Christmas for me has always been about spending the day with family, seeing everyone have a good time with a smile on their face. A tradition that mum seems to keep going is getting me to wrap all of the Christmas she’s bought. Just the other day she mentioned that she’s going to pay for my taxi fare once I move out next year. We’ll see about that one mum!

I’m so excited for me and Danny to make traditions of our own home.

What is your favourite winter scent?

Hmmmm… many people seem to love different winter scented candles such as ginger or cinnamon. I don’t even have any candles around the house at mum and dad’s. I’m not too sure why. Does the smell of mum’s Christmas dinner as it’s cooking count as a good enough answer to this question? I hope so because it’s at the top of the list for me. You can probably tell that I love my food.

What is your favourite winter go-to fashioned trend?

As a little girl I think mum used to put me in cute little dresses. As I got older I think I stuck to jeans and a nice knitted winter top or jumper. Over the past few years I’ve gone for a dress, or skirt with a long sleeved top, tights and boots. This year’s skirt and top are both from New Look.

What is your all-time favourite holiday movie?

I have 2 favourite Christmas films. The first one is The Snowman (original version from 1982). It’s just under 30 minutes long but it always reminds me of my childhood. I watched it every year with my grandad, so whenever I see something snowman related, it makes me feel so happy.

My other all-time favourite is Miracle on 34th Street, again the original from 1947). Me and mum have seen different versions of the film but the original has always been our favourite. Whenever we notice that it’s on TV, we’re like “Ahhh look what’s on. It’s nearly Christmas!”

What’s your favourite all-time holiday tune?

Easy – Fairytale of New York by The Pogues. It isn’t even the jolliest of songs but it’s definitely the kind where it gets you in the mood to sing along. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday is another really good Christmas song to get you into the festive spirit. Everyone should be happy on Christmas Day, as well as every other day of the year. This songs gives you extra bit of Christmas spirit. My favourite Christmas song when I was little was Jingle Bells.

Do you prefer to travel or stay at home during the holidays?

I’ve always stayed at home during Christmas or eaten out at a restaurant not too far away from where we live. I hope one day I’ll be able to experience Christmas or the New Year somewhere other than home. I’ve always stayed with family but like I mentioned above, I can’t wait to make new Christmas memories with Danny.

Next year will be mine and Danny’s first Christmas in our home together. But maybe in the future, we’ll be able to go to New York because I’ve always wanted to go back and remember how magical it is in winter. Another place could be San Fransisco as that’s one of Danny’s dream places to go.

What’s your favourite winter activity?

Activity? In the winter? I don’t like the cold so erm… getting home to have a nice hot chocolate? I do love being all cosy when it’s chilly and windy outside. A bit like today really. But at the same time I like being all snug whenever me and Danny travel anywhere in the winter.

If you read about our latest trip to Amsterdam you’ll have seen that I was all wrapped up. I’m always cold as it is so many layers were needed. Having a walking radiator (Danny) with me always helps!

Do you love or hate the snow?

If you would’ve asked me this question when I was a little girl, I would’ve said love. There was something so exciting about waking up and seeing that the ground was covered in pure white snow. I’d play outside with my friends with no fear of the cold whatsoever.

But you’re asking me now so I’d have to say hate. Well hate might be a bit too strong of a word. I’m just not a fan of the slush, sleet, ice etc. And it’s me after all, I go flying in the wind. So you can imagine what I’m like when the snow turns to ice. This is why I was so surprised I managed to ice skate pretty well in Amsterdam since I hadn’t from the age of 8 years old!

What is one item on your wish list this year?

There’s nothing on my Christmas list this year. Anyone that knows me will know that I always love snuggly things like pyjamas though. I honestly am just so looking forward to moving in with Danny next year so most people are getting us little bits to help us out. Bring on 2019, it’s going to be amazing!

What is your favourite holiday treat?

Well, all the food. Seriously, all of it. But I do a bit (or a lot of) shortbread. Yesterday, mum came into the living room and said, “Look what I bought today.” It was a huge box of shortbread. I was in my element. Oh and every year there just has to be multiple tubs of chocolates. What’s Christmas without all of the chocolate?!
