This is a Q&A post with Jen Mellor.

What/who has been your biggest inspiration in life?

My Grandma. She has always been there for me. Even if disappointed in something I do, she has said it nicely and never made a big deal of it. My Grandma had 7 children and was a fabulous mum to them all. She is a wonderful Grandma and always tells me to do what I want to do and loves me unconditionally.

What has been your proudest moment?

Realising that I can be who I want to be and that I am my own person. I had been in abusive relationships. But realising that I had got out of them and could be in control of my own future and that my son made me proud that I did that, made me feel I could do anything I put my mind to.

Do you believe that things happen for a reason?

Yes I believe everything that happens is either to teach us a lesson or make us realise we are stronger than we realised. I think good and bad things happen because that’s life and if they didn’t we wouldn’t be who we are it’s the way our life is meant to be. There is a reason for it all even if we don’t know it yet!

What’s a quote that you like to live by?

Happiness isn’t an absence of problems. It is the ability to deal with them. And if dealing with them is a brick at a time or a grain of sand at a time, if you are dealing with them you are succeeding. Happiness is accepting and loving the life you have.

A big thank you to Jen for answering those questions and giving such honest answers.
