Festivities Fun and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown

After work on Friday afternoon, I went to the Victorian Markets with people from work. This was the Markers Market outside the Lowry in Salford Quays. The next day I went to see 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown with my mum and my boyfriend.

The Makers Market

There were many different little stalls. These included: personalised gifts, cheese, kid’s toys, artificial flowers amongst many other lovely gift ideas. Many people said that we were shopping in style as we were walking around with a glass of prosecco. We couldn’t complain for two for £6.

The majority of the workers were dressed in Victorian Times themed costumes. These featured a penny farthing bike and other Victorian attractions.

I purchased some wooden type artificial flowers – they are so cute. The first thing on my mind when I saw them was, they would be perfect for granny and grandad’s grave. Again, the price wasn’t expensive at all. It cost £3 for 16 flowers. Purple was granny and grandad’s wedding colour but because you could choose a selection of colours, I chose a combination of purple, pink, blue, and red.

Other lovely gifts ideas included personalised plaques, Christmas cards, and Christmas baubles (especially the ones for dogs which had dog treats inside them).

There were many sweet treats. I really wanted a chocolate brownie, they were only £1.50 and they were pretty big. But I knew I had to make sure I ate my tea afterwards (we took a trip to Nando’s as it was conveniently so close by – right facing actually).

Also, there was a different choice of hot chocolates including Bailey’s, classic, and Oreo. One of my friends had to get one as we were waiting for a taxi. It was a bonus too that it kept her hands warm.

Cats Does Countdown

After seeing my very giddy niece, (who we also had the pleasure of seeing this morning) my mum, Danny and I were off to a trip to MediaCityUK. We are so excited to have had tickets to go to see 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Christmas Special.

When we arrived there was already a queue as we expected. Luckily we were numbers 69 to 71 on our wristbands so we definitely knew that we were getting the chance to go into the studios to watch the show.

Once we entered the studios, the first thing we said was the letters and numbers stand looks smaller in real life! I can honestly say that, out of all the shows I’ve been part of in the audience, this was the only one where everything ran smoothly and there wasn’t loads of stopping and starting again. There was a small moment when Jimmy, and Rachel had to say some numbers and words again, but nothing changed in the regards to the way something was said.

Jimmy Carr said hello to the audience and seemed outgoing. He delivered the show with Jon Richardson, Sean Lock, Susie Dent, and special guests Russel Howard, Kathy Burke, and Joe Lycett.

It was really good to have the chance to see these stars in real life. I have seen Russel Howard live and he hasn’t changed – still as funny as ever.

A great couple of days

Just as we expected, my mum couldn’t help but blurt out her laugh. It was brilliant! I wasn’t sure if it was going to be as funny as it is when you watch it on television. But it definitely was, just as hilarious. Jimmy Carr definitely kept everything flowing just as the rest of the guests did. There were no pauses, and the whole show entertained the audience from start until finish.

By the way, Jimmy’s laugh is just as hysterical in real life.

I have had a great weekend. I started my morning, wrapping the rest of the Christmas presents in the spare room and I am looking forward to the rest of my day being nice and chilled.
